The Providence St. Mel Associate Board consists of young professionals dedicated to the mission of Providence St. Mel School to make this premier education accessible to students on Chicago’s West Side. Associate Board members are willing to commit their energies to expanding and sustaining the education and scholarship program for students at the school via special fundraising events, exclusive networking opportunities, and more.

PSM Associate Board attends Basketball Game!
This winter, our members hosted the 2020 Basketball Soiree to create posters to show their support and cheer on our Knights during the game on January 14th. The commitment of these young professionals to expanding opportunities for our hardworking students means so much.
Third Annual A Knight to Remember was a success!
On Friday, September 13th, the Providence St. Mel Associate Board hosted the Third Annual A Knight to Remember. We thank all who joined us on the gorgeous roof deck of 210 North Carpenter to support the Summer Opportunity Of A Lifetime (SOAL) program at Providence St. Mel School. We are #psmproud to announce that the event raised over $20,000 for such a wonderful program!
Summer Opportunity of a Lifetime was founded in 1990 in order to expand learning outside the classroom through summer enrichment opportunities both domestic and abroad. Students participate in camps such as Lutheran Summer Music or Minnesota’s Camp Kamaji, as well as academic programs at Brown University, Northwestern University, and Indiana University. Summer learning opportunities are vital in setting students up for success in school, college, and life, giving them the confidence that they can compete in all environments. Students partake in activities that blend literacy, theater, dance, art, technology, and sports, and that spark their interests and curiosity.
We are ever grateful for the many who made A Knight to Remember a success, including: Irving Richardson (PSM Class of 1998), Lagunitas Brewing Company, and Breakthru Beverage Group for their in-kind donations. A very special thank you to our sponsors and the Associate Board members who made this night possible with their support and leadership.
Associate Board Members Coordinate Volunteer Day with AYCO Professionals!
For the third consecutive year, dedicated volunteers from Ayco, A Goldman Sachs Company, went above and beyond to help tidy up the school after another busy year of learning. We thank them for taking time out of their busy schedules to volunteer at Providence St. Mel School on Friday, July 12th!
Young professionals from Ayco’s Community Team Works moved old furniture and items on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th floors to a dumpster in our parking lot and brightened up the walls of our art room with fresh paint. In addition, some of our recent graduates enjoyed the opportunity to discuss with the volunteers future aspirations, and they truly valued the college career advice they had to offer. We are so very grateful for supporters like Ayco.
Once again, all of us at Providence St. Mel School were impressed by the hard work of Community Team Works to transform our halls and create an environment where all PSM students have the chance to receive the very best education. Community Team Works helped to ensure that our students are challenged to strive toward their greatest potential and that each child has opportunities that prepares them.
