At Providence St. Mel, we provide many programs to enhance the educational experience for each and every Providence St. Mel student in order to provide the skills necessary for future success.
The Annual Fund at Providence St. Mel provides the general operation funds that allow for Providence St. Mel to continue its mission daily.
Providence St. Mel keeps tuition low so that students, who otherwise would not have the opportunity, can have the chance at an excellent college-preparatory education. But this low tuition is much more than our struggling families can afford. Only with the support of such caring partners as you can Providence St. Mel continue to keep tuition low, offer indispensable scholarships, and deliver effective classroom instruction and exceptional enrichment programs that enable our students to excel and succeed.
Summer Opportunity of a Lifetime (SOAL)
Providence St. Mel’s Summer Opportunity of a Lifetime (SOAL) allows students to gain valuable experiences outside of the classroom by participating in various academic and enrichment programs all over the world. Courses range from pre-college summer programs at Brown University, to the Oxford Academic Programs in Europe, to service programs in the Rocky Mountains, to wilderness camps deep in the woods of Minnesota.
Academic Intervention Model (AIM)
Academic Intervention Model (AIM) supports underperforming students to thrive in a rigorous learning environment—to “catch up” to their peers, to perform at grade level, and to compete in the classroom. True to our mission of providing a college preparatory education for students who may not otherwise have the opportunity, we admit students who academically may be two or three grade levels behind. We believe all students have a unique potential, and our successful model continues to demonstrate, year after year, that with hard work and additional targeted support, students can achieve. Providing academic support after school gives students a safe and structured environment to complete assignments, build and practice skills, plan projects, and prepare for assessments.
Our school and students value innovation, engineering, and design. This year, we continued to expand our STEM curriculum for our lower school students. In fact, students as young as three years old are learning how to code! We also are in the process of designing our resource center’s new Makerspace Center. Makerspace provides an environment for our students to gather in a community to create, invent, and learn using crafts, tools, and technology. In this globally competitive world, we are proud that we continue to remain at the forefront of cutting-edge learning techniques.
Providence St. Mel knows a quality education should be available to students at every age ,which is why we begin our enriching and college-preparatory education with our three-year old program.
At Providence St. Mel, we believe in providing a rigorous academic education, in addition to an individualized experience with numerous opportunities to enrich a student’s whole character. We value learning experiences both inside and outside of the classroom in order to provide a well-rounded education for all of our students. The gift of a musical education truly does so much for our students, and as various studies continue to demonstrate, young persons exposed to music and involved with music show better long-range memory, exhibit greater cognitive skills, and perform better academically.
